Unable to delete a share floder named images

Featured Replies

Hi,I found a shared folder named "images" on my Unraid server, which I didn't create.

Every time I delete it, it automatically reappears within a few seconds.

In shell I get this wired info, not sure what it is

# file: images
user.DOSATTRIB=0sAAAFAAUAAAARAAAAEAAAAG2dq5fbNNsB

image.thumb.png.7c8db60dd328a02f5b842bf9a23d6470.png

What Ive done to delete it:

  1. delete it on webui
  2. delete in shell : cd /mnt/user && rm -rf images
  3. stop docker service and redo step 1 and 2 (I dont run vms on unraid)
  4. reboot server and redo step 1 to 3

All attempts failed, and the shared folder images could be deleted, but would reappear within seconds.

What happened with my UNRAID server? Is it infected by a virus? How can I delete the images shared folder?

Thanks in advanceendurance-diagnostics-20241112-1336.zip

Possibly there's a container creating that share, stop all containers, delete the folder, then start one by and see if you can find the culprit.

If the folder is still created without docker running it could a script.

I checked that too.

In my User Scripts and /boot/config/go. Didnt found anything suspicious.

Something must be creating that folder, disable VM and Docker services, delete the folder and reboot in safe mode, does it get created?

IT WORKS!

I successfully deleted the shared folder in safe mode, and it never created again. But after boot into normal mode and start array, it comes back .

So, I guess it's one of the plugins that created this shared folder and keeps creating it continuously. Problem is, I have no clue and don't know which plugin is causing this issue.

Tried a few times,  after unassigned devices uninstalled, share folder [images] didnt come up again, but reinstall brings back [images] again.

It will need to be trial and error to find out the culprit.
