November 15, 20241 yr Hello! I have a New 5 Bay NAS I'm building and 4 2.5" drives from salvaged laptop of the past. 2x 2TB, 2x 1TB I would like to use these drives in my new NAS. I would like to know if the QNAP QDA-A2AR 2x2.5 to 1x3.5 drive converters/Raid devices will work? and if it would be better to use RAID 0 or JBOD mode on them. The idea being that Unraid will see say the 2x2TB as a single 4TB drive (I will be treating them as one drive anyways) So I guess my question is will the QDA-A2AR function with Unraid? The current plan is to get a couple 8TB drives, one for parity and then use all the 2.5 drives I have lying around to achieve 14TB of usable. Edited November 15, 20241 yr by ETHREAL1 Typo

Ya, But it's RAID that in supposedly invisible to the hosting device (Unless you have there Windows software installed or it's a QNAP NAS) you set the RAID via DIP switches Edited November 15, 20241 yr by ETHREAL1
November 15, 20241 yr Not sure how it can be transparent if there's only one SATA plug for both, but try and lets us know.
