What triggers an automatic parity check ?

Featured Replies

I restarted my array (5.0 beta13) and noticed that two drives stayed in "mounting" state for longer than normal. While this was happening they both showed writes as did the parity drive. When the array finally started up it immediately went into a parity check. Any ideas what's going on?

No sync errors detected yet but it just started with a 3TB parity drive. Should I be concerned about my data?

easy, you did not stop the array before powering down last time.

Thanks for the quick response. I did try to stop they array but it hung (forgot to put that in my OP).

Are writes to a drive while mounting expected in this circumstance?

yes, as it replays transactions in the journaling file system
