Single parity - getting disk read errors from a 2nd disk during a failed drive rebuild

Featured Replies

I know the outcome will not be good, but during a disk rebuild (disk2) from a failed drive, another drive (disk3)started filling up my log with disk read errors.

What are my options?

I'm thinking my only option would be:  removing failed disk assignments from array and doing a 'NEW CONFIGURATION', then mount newly unassigned disks (using unassigned disks plugin) and try to move what files I can back to the array?

I know it would result in some, if not all, loss of data that was on the two disks.

The syslog is incomplete, reboot and post new diags after array start.

Looks like a power/connection issue with disk3, replace cables for that disk and new diags.

Will try, Its in a 4U case with disk trays, I moved it to a different slot after the 1st batch of read errors.  Ill try to hook it straight up to power/sata outside of the tray.
