December 16, 20241 yr Hi Everyone, I recently set up my Unraid server, and so far, everything has been working great. Since I plan to use Unraid for my Plex setup, I started transferring some media files to the server. However, I'm encountering issues when triggering the mover to transfer folders and files from the cache to the array. Here’s the setup: I created a share named "Movies", which contains folders named after specific movies. The structure looks like this: Movies/Movie1/Movie1.mkv. To transfer the files, I mounted the share as a network drive on Windows 11 and used drag-and-drop to move the movie folders and files to the server. After transferring the files, the Unraid UI (Shares tab) correctly shows that both the folder and its contents are located on the cache (Location: Cache). However, when I manually trigger the mover, I get the following error: Dec 16 03:36:15 UnraidServerName move: mover: started Dec 16 03:36:15 UnraidServerName move: file: /mnt/cache/Movies/Movie1 (2024)/Movie1 (2024).mkv Dec 16 03:36:15 UnraidServerName move: create_parent: /mnt/cache/Movies/Movie1 (2024) error: Is a directory Dec 16 03:36:15 UnraidServerName move: mover: finished Here’s what happens after triggering the mover manually: The folder is created on the array, but it still exists on the cache drive (Location: Cache/Drive1). The movie file inside the folder is not copied (likely due to the error). If I trigger the mover a second time, the file is copied successfully, and no errors occur. I’m hoping to resolve this issue so the mover runs automatically at night without requiring manual intervention. Any help or advice would be much appreciated! Cheers
January 28, 20251 yr Did you ever figure this out? I'm on a fresh install of unRAID 7 and this is also happening to me. I also get similar errors when running mv or rsync from the command line, so I think it is less a mover bug and more something wrong with the OS.
