December 21, 20241 yr I just ran into this issue this morning. I can access through server.local but not through direct IP. /etc/rc.d/rc.nginx reload or restart did not solve it. I have seen comments that people reboot the server to solve for this. Since everything is working and I can access through .local I thought I would not restart the server just yet and see if there is another way to fix this? Diagnostics attached if helpful? Anything else I can try? Thanks. odin-diagnostics-20241221-0718.zip
December 21, 20241 yr Community Expert Windows SMB is setup to allow only one SMB connection from each Windows client to each individual server. In the past, using the server name and its IP address allowed two connections to a server. I suspect that now MS is attempting to enforce this restriction more vigorously. (I know it does not work on my Network with the version of Windows I am currently using--- Win11 PRO ver 23H2. In my case, I am using the server-name.) The server name is probably the better approach as most folks are using DHCP to get the IP address. Edited December 21, 20241 yr by Frank1940 "does not work" was "does work"
December 21, 20241 yr Author Solution I run on Macs - and I notice the issue doesn't happen on all of my Macs. It appears to be something local to the Mac as I was able to resolve it by restarting and clearing cache. Presumably some local service failed. Not really sure.
