Mounting private disk shares in linux mint

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I have two private disk shares in Unraid that I'd like to automatically mount on my linux client on the LAN.

I believe it involves editing my /etc/fstab file on the linux client. I've found lots of stuff online about what to write in the fstab file (cifs / nfs / smb etc) and I'm not sure what I'd need to write or what is the best way of accessing the shares.

I found this THREAD, is this along the right lines by using CIFS? Is that the best way?

Also I assume I'd have to allow access for the client by adding a new user in Unraid?

I'm an inexperienced linux user so I'd really appreciate some guidance on how to do this.

Many Thanks
