April 6, 201214 yr After preclearing a drive, I added it to my array and formatted it. I stopped my array, and did a clean power down. I plugged in another drive that has data on it, but when I started the server it never connected to the network. I tried connecting thru my browser and by telnet and even pinged it, but it's not there. I powered it off, pulled the drive I just connected back out, but my server still won't connect to the network. I'm running this server headless, so I'm not sure what's going on with it. Does anyone have any suggestions before I drag out my dinosaur of a monitor AGAIN?
April 6, 201214 yr sounds like the USB boot drive got kicked from being the default boot device. This is usually a "feature" of a lot of BIOS to help you. It is more of an annoyance than anything else. You will probably have to set the USB drive as the primary boot device again and then all should be good.
April 7, 201214 yr Author You hit the nail on the head. I disabled all the other drives in the BIOS before, so I'm not sure why it arbitrarily decided to reenable them. I appreciate the help!
