Unraid 7.0 since upgrading I have frequent locked up / inaccessible GUI etc

Featured Replies

Hi

Since upgrading to 7.0 I am experiencing at least once a day I cannot access the GUI (it won't load up in my browser), fans running full when this happens, cant access docker WebUI's. Only thing I can do is press power button and restart which causes unclean shutdown. When I connect a monitor the screen just powers off so can't login that way either. I used an old Raspberry Pi to set up a Syslog server and have attached a log to see if anyone can shed a light on what is happening? It's a .txt file hope that's ok. My server is called UBUNTUSERVER160 192.168.1.145  because I never changed the name when I switched to Unraid. The other IP address that shows up is 192.168.1.104 which is my Windows 10. Thanks

Some segfaults logged, start by running memtest, or since memtest is only definitive if it finds errors, if you have multiple sticks try using the server with just one, if the same try with a different one, that will basically rule out bad RAM.

Seeing the same thing on mine, just upgraded yesterday and today GUI not responsive.  Tried to /sbin/reboot from console but get that gets stuck.

Got kernel/panic on restart after force power button off... Got a kernel/panic on first attempt to run 7.0 also..

Think I'm just going to go back to 6.12 for now.

Hi folks

I downgraded to 6.12.14 over 24 hours ago and no more problems. I guess this rules out any problems with the RAM, @JorgeB? I don't see any Segmentation faults or BUG: Bad rss-counter state in the latest logs.

You can try upgrading again, but boot in safe mode and retest.

Do you have Tailscale running?

I've tried upgrading again and get the same behaviour, after a few hours it becomes unreachable and locks up. I'm back to 6.12.14 and I'll stay there until 7.1.x comes out. Memtest came back as passed. Seeing this at the end of the logs. Nothing like that when running 6.12.14, it runs fine. @JorgeB
