Multiple disks problem

Featured Replies

Hi guys, so my unraid config is 5 Data + 1 Parity Drive, last night suddenly my Disk 1 became disabled, I changed the cable and I tried the extended smart test and it shows no error so I tried to rebuild without changing the Disk 1, then I noticed the rebuild was very slow, and my Disk 5 is throwing some errors.

Since my data isnt that important, what is the best way to keep all other disk data intact, other than maybe disk 5 since it has errors.. and since I already tried to rebuild the array, is my Disk 1 data is already in the middle of being overwritten ??

what if I want to make a new array, but keep my other disk data, is it possible ??

thank you so much

Replace cables for disks 3 and 5, especially if thy share something, like a power splitter, and try rebuilding again.

After a few hours of rebuilding, suddenly the speed is back to normal. but I still think my Disk 5 is dying, I'll replace it after it finish rebuilding.

Thank you

It's not logged as a disk problem, looks like a cable problem, but you can run an extended SMART test to confirm.
