Unraid Server Crashing

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

I'm experiencing recurring crashes with my Unraid server and I'm hoping to get some help troubleshooting the issue. The crashes are somewhat intermittent, sometimes happening multiple times a day, other times it might run for a few days without a problem. This makes it difficult to pinpoint the exact cause.

I've already taken some initial steps to try and isolate the problem. I've run separate CPU and RAM tests and both passed without any errors. This leads me to believe the issue isn't directly related to faulty CPU or RAM. Despite these tests, the crashes continue. The server usually becomes unresponsive, requiring a hard reboot.

The issue has occurred since migrating from an older server. I used the same USB boot drive and HDDs, I also installed a new NVMe drive as my cache. This machine was previously running fine as a Proxmox server, with different HDDs.

I've attached my diagnostics.zip file.

Any pointers on what to look for in the logs would be greatly appreciated. Further troubleshooting steps I could take. Are there any other tests or checks I should perform?

My Unraid version is 6.12.10.

My hardware specs are:

CPU: Intel® Core™ i7-4790 CPU

Motherboard: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. Z97-D3H-CF

RAM: 32 GiB DDR3

GPU:  GeForce GTX 1050 Ti

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance for your time and expertise.

Log is showing macvaln call traces, first thing to do it to update to 6.12.15 or 7.0.0, both have that issue resolved.
