February 2, 20251 yr Just set up my Unraid (after getting assistance form support) but now trying to add my existing HDD's to the system to be abel to back-up to Unrtaid SSD's. I cannot see my HDD's so I am guessing I need docker to run for this, but on my Docker Tab I get the error message: Docker Faield To Start. I have sent the Tower Diagnosis Zip file to support, but not heard anything as yet, and I am keen to get the whole thing working, as it has been a week of probelms and support interaction to get this far. Manual doesn't really say much to help this so, her I am trying to get help from the community. Thnaks in advance Porl
February 2, 20251 yr Community Expert Note: SSDs in the array cannot be trimmed. Did you let Unraid format disk1 and disk2?
February 3, 20251 yr Author Yes I let unraid format the 3 x SSD's in the array, with SSD 1 & 2 being data drives and SSD 3 being the Parity SSD (all 8tb in size).
February 3, 20251 yr Community Expert Unraid will not format parity because parity has no filesystem. Those diagnostics you posted before seemed to indicate that disk1 and disk2 were unmountable. For new disks that you haven't written to yet, this means they haven't been formatted. Did you format them after you posted those diagnostics? If so, post new diagnostics. If not, post a screenshot of Main - Array Operations.
February 4, 20251 yr Author Yes I let unraid format the 3 x SSD's in the array, with SSD 1 & 2 being data drives and SSD 3 being the Parity SSD (all 8tb in size). Well I believe I formatted them at the start. But I have done so again and run the diagnsotics once more which are attached. Thank you for your help. Really I just want to be able to copy existing data form my HDD's on to the more reliable and swifter SSD's via unraid. Cheers Paultower-diagnostics-20250204-1607.zip

So some inconsistency with your description and what Unraid does. However, unlike previous diagnostics, disk1 and disk2 are mounted now. As mentioned, SSDs in the array cannot be trimmed. Your Docker setup is not default, possibly even invalid, and might cause problems and confusion. Disable Docker in Settings Set Docker vDisk location to /mnt/user/system/docker/docker.img Set Default appdata storage location to /mnt/user/appdata Enable Docker Then post new diagnostics
February 4, 20251 yr Author Hi, New diagnsotics attached after Docker setting change.tower-diagnostics-20250204-1737.zip
February 4, 20251 yr Community Expert Doesn't look like you did the Docker changes at all. Go to Settings - Docker and post a screenshot.
