Cache drive unmountable (too)

Featured Replies

I had a power outage last night and my fancy new UPS apparently didn't work and after reboot, my cache drive is unmountable. However, if I take the drive out and connect it to another computer running Ubuntu, it mounts just fine and all of the files are visible.

My problem seems very similar to https://forums.unraid.net/topic/143887-cache-drive-umountable/

And I see others have had good results following the same steps, but since the drive seems to work just fine in another computer, I wonder if my issue might be a little different. And since I don't really know the consequences of running some of those commands like sfdisk with 2048 and write, I'm worried about losing the data I do have.

Any guidance on what is the best course of action?

Specifically /dev/sdj is the drive in question.

Pool has two devices, but only one is assigned, unassign the pool device, start the array, stop the array, reassign both pool devices, start the array, post new diags.

I think that did it. After following those steps, I see the share that was missing and the services relying on it started back up on their own. That was way easier than I expected!

Thanks so much, @JorgeB!!

Pool has dual data profiles, click on the first device then in the balance section select "convert to raid1", post new diags after that is complete.

?? If I click on the first device and scroll down to the Balance Status section, in the "btrfs filesystem df" box, it mentions RAID1. But I'll happily admit I just barely know enough to get this working.

I selected the drop-down list next to the Balance button and changed it from "Perform full balance" to "Convert to raid1 mode" and then clicked the Balance button. The screen refreshed but nothing changed and that drop-down was back to "Perform full balance".

Did that do what you expected?

Pool should be OK now, everything is using raid1.
