February 15, 20251 yr Greetings! I'm in the process of adding an external disk array to my UNRAID server for more storage (geting tired of the cost of replacing existing parity and capacity HDDs in my current UNRAID server for the upteen time). I just picked up a NetApp NAJ-0801 to house 5x 18TB SATA drives I have laying around from upgrading to 22TB HDDs (for MOAR hoarding of Linux ISOs). I'm now shopping for a mid-sized rack as my current UNRAID server is in a tower chassis with casters (Fractal Design 7 XL filled with drives). I'll eventually move from my tower to a rack mount server, but will be running the 7 XL and this NetApp disk array together for the time being. I was looking at some of the rack options below (will be in our bedroom closet with a bathroom between it and our bedroom). I haven't looked at the acoustics of this disk array yet, but hopefully it's not too noisy with 2x PSUs installed (don't think I need PSU 3 and 4 for home/non-production workloads). I have 35" D, 64" H and 30" W to work with.
