Hardware Error On Ryzen 5600X System

Featured Replies

The Fix Common Problems plugin reported recently that my system with a Ryzen 5600X processor had a hardware error. The error does not match the benign error shown in the support thread for the plugin, so it is suggested to post here for support. Diagnostics are attached, but the relevant looking error in the system logs is:

Feb 11 21:16:23 DasNASty kernel: mce: [Hardware Error]: Machine check events logged
Feb 11 21:16:23 DasNASty kernel: [Hardware Error]: Corrected error, no action required.
Feb 11 21:16:23 DasNASty kernel: [Hardware Error]: CPU:1 (19:21:0) MC9_STATUS[-|CE|-|AddrV|-|-|CECC|-|-|-]: 0x950fc0854824048b
Feb 11 21:16:23 DasNASty kernel: [Hardware Error]: Error Addr: 0x0000000000000000
Feb 11 21:16:23 DasNASty kernel: [Hardware Error]: IPID: 0x0000000000000000
Feb 11 21:16:23 DasNASty kernel: [Hardware Error]: Bank 9 is reserved.
Feb 11 21:16:23 DasNASty kernel: [Hardware Error]: cache level: L3/GEN, tx: GEN

The plugin claims to have saved the output from mcelog, but I did not see it in the diagnostics zip, likely due to

Feb 15 22:18:15 DasNASty root: mcelog: ERROR: AMD Processor family 25: mcelog does not support this processor. Please use the edac_mce_amd module instead.

Various posts on the forums for similar errors such as this one seem to indicate that it's just a warning and that mcelog is working, but running the command manually just results in the error with no additional output so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

The only other time I've seen hardware errors being reported on this system was when one of my sticks of ECC memory started going bad, but that has been replaced for a while. This error is different from when that occurred, and so far this has only been reported once while the ECC errors were occurring ~daily.

Can anyone help decipher what sort of error this is reporting?
