bind vfio gpus for docker exclusivity?

I have two nvidia gpus, and I don't want them to be associated with unraid GUI at all, I know vfio binding is useful for VMs, and it's not needed for docker (with the use of the nvidia plugin and --runtime flag on containers)

 

is there any advantage/disadvantage to vfio binding the gpus when I only plan on using them with docker? and will doing so break the docker --runtime functionality?
