March 27, 20251 yr Hello everyone, after a restart of my server (update to 7.0.1) I've been getting the following errors in my logs which weren't there before Mar 27 11:25:34 Tower nmbd[15103]: [2025/03/27 11:25:34.324374, 0] ../../source3/nmbd/nmbd_incomingrequests.c:211(process_name_registration_request) Mar 27 11:25:34 Tower nmbd[15103]: process_name_registration_request: unicast name registration request received for name KM987413<20> from IP 10.10.10.110 on subnet UNICAST_SUBNET. Error - should be sent to WINS server The IP that sends the request is a Konica Minolta network printer/scanner that has a share attached to it for network scanning. It keeps spamming the logs every 2 minutes. Is this something that should be resolved in Unraid or maybe from my router (Ubiquiti UDM-SE). I couldn't find any settings for WINS in the router settings. Any help would be appreciated!
March 27, 20251 yr Community Expert Solution You should configure the printer NOT to use WINS. Its outdated, obsolete and unlikely that there will still be somewhere a server around somewhere. I would not call this an error message, its more a warning to take care about an misconfigured device... Edited March 27, 20251 yr by MAM59
March 29, 20251 yr Author Yeah i just changed it from the printer. I was just curious cause it started showing up right after the update. Thanks!
