Can't access server after power outage

Featured Replies

I can't get a response at the usual IP I have assigned to the server's NIC, nor from http://cube (the name I chose instead of tower) or http://tower.

How does one troubleshoot in that situation? The server appears to be booting and functioning, I just can't see proof of its existence on the network.

Apologies for taking so long... it's been a heck of a few weeks due to unrelated issues.

🤦‍♂️ And of course the very act of me connecting a keyboard, mouse, and monitor to the server somehow made it visible on the network again to other machines. 🧐

In case there's a difference, here's the diagnostics via the GUI, after starting the array (although not before the parity check is complete; that'll take another 28 hours). The diagnostic in my previous post was gathered while attached to the server with a keyboard, mouse, & monitor.

So it's working now?

  • Author

Yes, but I neither know why it started working, nor do I know if it will stop working again once I disconnect the keyboard/mouse/monitor.

Is there any indication in the diagnostics as to what the issue was?

Check if Fast Boot is set in BIOS.  If so, turn it off.

That would suddenly be a problem after years of operation?

If it's working not much we can look at now, but post new diags if it happens again.

Since your shut down was due to a power outage, it is possible as neither Unraid nor the system as a whole shutdown cleanly.
