Oculink DAS?

Featured Replies

So I've not come across an oculink based DAS but from my limited understanding it would be as stable as internal drives. Is their any reason this isn't a thing yet? It seems to me this would be insanely popular for Unraid as we could buy those incredibly powerful cheap mini PCs and have HDD stability unlike USB DAS enclosures. Thoughts?

I can't comment specifically on the DAS, but I have 4 drives in one of my Unraid servers connected via an Oculink to 4x SATA cable.  Seems like an Oculink connected DAS should work well.
