Migration to Unraid

Featured Replies

Hi,

I currently have a media server on Ubuntu using snapraid + mergerfs as the method to pool the drives together and keep parity. I have 8 data drives and 2 parity drives. What's the best way to migrate over to Unraid?

EDIT: I have a mix of 18TB exos and toshibas with data currently on including the 2 parity drives and a fresh unformatted 18tb just in case I needed to copy data to fresh drive as part of migration.

I also have a SanDisk drive which I now am doubting after reading the sticky, I got it from Amazon and unlikely to be non-genuine as from SanDisk directly, I presume if it works then it works?

Can I backup the config on the USB drive to a cloud provider in case I need to swap the licence to a new drive and restore, how does that work?

Unraid had automated support if you have the Connect plugin (now built into latest Unraid) and configure it to do that.  You can also make local copies quite easily. .   Details in the online documentation.
