unraid becomes unresponsive sometime requires hard boot then docker.img' is in-use, cannot mount

Hi Folks,

My UNRAID server has been running pretty solidly for about a year or so. After upgrading to 7.1.2 which seemed to go fine and stable i did a bit of a spring clean to tidy up and installed Glutun VPN. While there were some trials and tribulations getting that work it seemed to be going fine. However on a number of occasions recently the UNRAID gui has become unresponsive. Sometimes my dockers seem to work fine despite this other times they are unreachable too. I have sometimes been able to ssl into the server but not always so have had to hard reboot.

On 2 occasions when it has rebooted the i get an error along the lines of "docker.img' is in-use, cannot mount". The first time I searched on line and tried a few things but in the end nothing worked so i just deleted the image and reinstalled everything again. However this has now happened again, less than a week later, so checking in here to see if i can get any help.

I might have an older version of the diagnostics on the usb drive from the first time i noticed this and was able to ssl in if that is of any help.

kind regards,

N

Thanks for getting back to me. It looks like it is already enabled for some reason.  This is what currently shows up under tools - syslog

That appears to be the regular syslog, but when this happens you typically need to reboot:

May 17 22:38:07 Chestnut root: '/mnt/user/system/docker/docker.img' is in-use, cannot mount

Restarting does work but if i try and disable then enable docker I get the same error so have to reboot. Not the worst work around but still not how it used to behave.

Thanks for getting back to me again. I actually did that the first time it happened.

However, I now have got a new error!

Fatal Flash Drive Error

This usually means your flash drive is corrupted or has dropped offline. The rest of the Unraid GUI will also be affected. Post a new thread in the Unraid forums if this error continues

Which I presume is likely to be more of a pointer as to what the issue is. The GUI is not responsive and it refuses SSH connections but I can still access the GUIs for some of the dockers although others are no longer available.

I was able to login directly to the machine but got the following error

"-bash: /usr/share/bash-completion/bash_completion: Input/output error"

when i try and run diagnostics I get

"-bash: diagnostics: command not found"

It very well could be, recommend replacing it.
