May 10, 201214 yr It tells me it's all good, and there's no read or write activity happening, i.e. no figures are changing, but the activity light on the drive bay is solid as if it's reading from the disk or whatever? I've not seen this before so figured I should check before using the array fully. EDITED: Included syslog http://pastebin.com/12YkzSGJ
May 10, 201214 yr Move the drive to another slot and see if the light follows. Did you run a parity check after the rebuild? The screen shot shows parity errors.
May 10, 201214 yr Author All the slots are full. I could pull the cache and whack it in there to see what happens. I'm @ work at the moment so I'll report back once I get home. I've set the cache to not move any downloads until I'm sure it's all good.
May 10, 201214 yr Author Thanks for that I didn't even know you could do that, although thinking about it I'm not sure why I assumed you wouldn't be able too :-) I'll follow this and get back http://lime-technology.com/wiki/index.php/FAQ#What_is_the_safe_way_to_rearrange_disk_numbers.2C_assignments.2C_slots.2C_etc.3F
May 11, 201214 yr The log shows no signs of a rebuild. Did you reboot after the rebuild? What steps did you do exactly when you changed the drive? Someone did post here that a certain drive caused the activity light to stay on. I can't recall what type of drive it was though.
May 11, 201214 yr Author I've rebooted several times since the rebuild, so the syslog is the latest one I have post-rebuild.
May 11, 201214 yr OK, so you did the rebuild earlier and the data is all good but the light is just stuck on. Do a search for "drive cage activity light". You will find multiple cases of Seagate drives doing this same thing.
May 11, 201214 yr Author Thanks to all, seems to just be "one of those things". The disk is active and fine just the light is full on.
