July 19, 2025Jul 19 I was previously running a 4-hour drive array with a SSD for cache drive. This has been running stable since 2022. I powered down the unit and added an additional 4 drives. Before powering back on and adding the drives, I rearranged my office and accidentally hit the USB drive on a desk (the crunching sound was an instant stomach punch, I know I am an idiot and I should have unplugged it). The USB drive is no longer booting or being recognized in multiple machines. Unfortunately, I only back up was when the flash drive was originally created and prior to adding drives. I took it to a local data recovery shop in hopes just to salvage the config file. They obviously cannot guarantee anything and also were charging several hundred dollars.I purchased a new thumb drive and installed a fresh build. It is recognizing all of the drives, but all as new. Because the unit has been running so long and stable, I am unsure which is the parity drive. Trying to read through the documentation, the parity drive should be unmountable but I am unable (unsure how) to determine that. The unraid documentation mentions asking in the forums if you are unable to find which drive in unmountable - so here I am.Thanks in advance for any help.
