July 26, 2025Jul 26 Hello all,Relatively new to Unraid (sub-6 months) but loving it so far. So much so that I took advantage of recent Prime Day sales to add some additional hardware to run a second Unraid server (both running 7.1.4).The idea is to keep my existing server as the media server, and set up the second as my dedicated NAS/personal cloud.I’ve looked into how to do it, but would like advice from the community on best practices, especially from anyone who has undertaken the same previously, as much online content doesn’t seem to quite fit the bill and I’m always dubious about ChatGPT-ing a migration workflow.I know there’s an element of security in that as long as I don’t delete any data or containers from the first server then there’s no real risk involved as such, but I’m time poor and would like the most seamless and straightforward way possible to have things up and running on the new server.I did consider just migrating the full server then deleting what I don’t need, but I assume this is woefully inefficient due to the huge media data transfer but want to avoid any potential issues between the two Unraid licenses. The containers I would like to migrate are ownCloud (with Only Office Document Server) and Immich (alongside Redis and Space Invader One’s PostgreSQL_Immich docker image). To compound things possibly, both of these are currently attached to a Cloudflare tunnel from my personal domain.I have a general overview of what I’ll need to do, but would love to hear from those in the know. Thanks all.
