July 27, 2025Jul 27 Hi allI have searched for references to this igpu in the forum but have not found any threads with the same problem as mine. Perhaps I have not searched correctly. Here is my scenario:Unraid mounted on an i5 8500U, with 32GB of RAMI have a VM already set up and accessible via RDP, with this configuration. Now I want to create a second VM so that the VM can be used with Windows from the TV connected to the computer.I have set the configuration like this, but I can't get anything to appear on the screen; the TV always says there is no input signal.I have seen on some sites that it would be necessary to put a BIOS .rom on the igpu in the VM configuration, but although I have searched on techpowerup, I have not been able to find a .rom for the UDH graphics 630 or for the i5-8500 processor. What other information can I provide that might be useful in trying to determine the problem?

July 28, 2025Jul 28 Author Thanks for your reply, @alturismo .My intention, from the outset, is to have two VMs.One of them, let's call it vm1, is the one I would always use remotely, via RDP, and which would never need to be connected to external screens or any other device. I would always access it via RDP and use it for personal project development. The second VM, let's call it VM2, is the one I would use for the TV. Its main function is to stream films and videos from Netflix and other similar platforms. Always from a browser. And this is the VM where I would connect an integrated Rii keyboard and mouse and the LG TV via display port.Given that the tower has a narrow profile, I am looking for VGAs that are inexpensive and low-profile, but either I am not looking properly or I can only find VGAs for over £40, which I honestly did not think would be so expensive for what they offer. Even on the second-hand market on apps, I find similar prices, but obviously, you cannot trust them too much.
July 28, 2025Jul 28 as a decent displaylink adapter costs even more ... may consider some special offer for some streaming stick therefore ?also nicer in the usability ... a remote vs keyboard / mouse ... but thats just a personal preference ;)
July 28, 2025Jul 28 Author Should this vga card works? --> Gigabyte GV-N210SL-1G GeForce 210 GDDR3My Rii is this one and it was working with windows

July 28, 2025Jul 28 Author Thanks alturismo.I've take a look for a new units and all are closer to 80-100 euros, too expensive for what I want to doI've found a geforce 710, which has a .rom in techpowerup and I think maybe it should work, but it's only an idea and obviously I'm not sureThis unit is second hand, cheaper than gt1030 and the reseller is closer to my town.I'm hesitating about whether to try this one out.I don't really think I should make a big investment in this project just to watch Netflix on TV.

August 1, 2025Aug 1 Author I've finally bought a second hand gt1030 ddr4 as suggested. As soon as I receive the unit I will place it in the computer. I just need to configure the second VM to use this vga card or is there anything I need to do?
August 2, 2025Aug 2 7 hours ago, SirZoX said:I just need to configure the second VM to use this vga card or is there anything I need to do?BIOS should be setup to use "multi monitor", primary should be iGPU, above 4g and rbar activated. Background, if a pcie gpu is installed, most bios would deactivate the iGPU and primary would be the Nvidia then, which would be then used by unraid ;)so may also vfio bind the card (including the audio part) in unraid too to make sure.and then .. yes, pass the video, audio, enable multifunction, enjoy
August 13, 2025Aug 13 Author Hello again, @alturismo .In the end, the GT1030 didn't work for me, as the heat sink was huge and didn't fit in the case. The PCIe port is at the very bottom, so low that if the VGA heat sink occupies two slots, it doesn't fit because it collides with the power supply. They've let me try out a Radeon 5450, and I'm testing it out. Right now, the second VM is configured like this:I haven't found any ‘multi-monitor’ option in the BIOS, but I have found that I can specify whether I want the iGPU or the Radeon to be the primary display. I've tried both options, but neither of them lets me see the Windows login screen on the TV.I'm sure that ‘multi-monitor’ option exists under some other similar name in the BIOS, but everything related to virtualisation on the motherboard is enabled, so in the end, I'm not sure what else I can try.

August 15, 2025Aug 15 Author Yesterday I had a lot of problems testing the Radeon 5450 I had before because I managed to get the video out on the TV, but there was no way to get the audio. The driver wasn't working, so I tried installing a Win10 VM (I had Win11), but that didn't work either. I also updated the BIOS to the latest version (from earlier this year), and even though I spent almost three hours testing it, nothing worked. Finally, as I said, today I got a GT1030 with these specifications. Now I can watch videos and I have audio, but there's anoooooooooooooother problem:The sound is robotic and gets slower and slower. If I play a YouTube video, it starts out robotic from the beginning, and after 10 seconds, the audio speed is maybe 30% or 40% of the original and it's still robotic.I tried connecting to the VM via RDP and playing from there, and in this case it works fine.So I tried using another HDMI cable, connecting it to another HDMI port on my TV, but in all cases the audio is poor.Of course, the drivers are the latest for Windows 10 (I haven't tried Windows 11, I would have to make a new VM).My VM has this config. I've tried also with no .rom uploaded

August 16, 2025Aug 16 Author I'm not sure how, but it's working with no changes using the tool. It's really weird when something is working and you don't understand what you did to fix the problems.I just had to say many many many thanks to @alturismo for your knowledge and help.
