May 20, 201214 yr I have a WD Elements USB drive, formatted as NTFS/HPFS. Under Ubuntu, it mounts automatically when I plug it in, and I can read/write the drive. When I plug it in to my unRAID server (5.0RC3) it doesn't seem to be properly recognised. On unMENU, it appears in the disk management page, with the following info: usb-WD_Elements_1023_575850314143304334383135-0:0 * 500G /dev/sdi partition (488,383,488 blocks): /dev/sdi1 0EBE1831BE181435TYPE However, there are no action buttons for mount/spin Up etc. I have Snap (plugin) installed, but that doesn't even acknowledge that the drive exists. I have even installed the ntfs-3g package, but that doesn't make any difference. I expected the drive to appear both in unRAID and on the Snap Shares page when I plug it in. Why doesn't it? What do I have to do to make it appear.

Try following the instructions in the wiki to mount the disk yourself. http://lime-technology.com/wiki/index.php/Mounting_an_external_USB_drive_having_an_existing_NTFS_file_system_in_READ/WRITE_mode_to_transport_files_from/to_unRaid_server
