One of array disks won't spin down after upgrade to v7

Featured Replies

Hello.

I have issue with one of array Data (Disk 3) disks (2 Parity, 3 Data; all SATA disks), which won't spin down after Default spin down of 30 minutes.

All other 4 disks spin down as configured by Default spin down value.

Per disk configuration is the same for all disks.

Disk 3 has Spin down delay set as "Use default" (same as the others).

I have checked with File Activity, Open Files and Active Streams and there is no usage or activity on Disk 3.

I noticed this issue with unRAID version 7. I don't remember having any issue on v6.

From v6 I upgraded to 7.0.1 and to 7.1.4

Disk in question is 8 TB Seagate HDD. Others are 2x WD and 2x Toshiba HDDs.

It is connected to PCIe HBA, same as some other disks, that don't have the issue.

Reboot of the server solves the issue for some time (after reboot disk will spin down after 30 minutes of no usage).

Most frequently that the issue appears is when I manually spin up all the drives and stop the Array. When I start the Array back (without server reboot), Seagate HDD won't spin down any more - not automatically after 30 minutes as the others do, not with me clicking on green dot under Array Devices to manually spin down the disk.

Any advice what to check or try is highly appreciated!

Thanks!
