HBA is being detected and initialized correctly; make sure it's not the 3.3v issue and that you are using the correct cables.

They need to be forward breakout, reverse breakout look the same but won't work, if neither helps, there could be an issue with the HBA ports (unlikely).

I would not think that is the issue, since the HBA is detected correctly by Linux.

Alright I’ve checked a few things and tried different ports as well as a different cable but no dice.

Could you explain more about what the 3.3v problem would be? I’d like to avoid taping a drive pin

Some hard drives conform to a newer SATA specification, where the drive is disabled when 3.3V are applied to Pin 3.

There are several solutions if this is your issue: Tape over the pin, use a Molex to SATA power adapter (has only 12V and 5V), or purchase special data/power cables, or use a different drive. It all depends if this is your issue, the hardware involved, and your comfort level.
