Create New Cache Zfs Mirror

Featured Replies

I have an existing 2TB NVME , that I wish to mirror to another NVME Drive, I get the error that the new drive is 2 small, and I can confirm that it is, although both are sold as 2TB Drives, is there anything I can do, short of buying another drive.

See Diags attached, many thanks for any help.

One of the devices is 2048GB, the other one is 2000 GB. You could create a new single pool with the smaller device, move all the data there, then add the larger device to that pool to create a mirror.

Will the name of the new pool cause issues with docker etc ?

Whats the best way to move the data to the new pool?

I would like to retain my dockers etc

Not if you are using /mnt/user, if you are using /mnt/pool_name, you would need to ajust.

You could use zfs replication, but it's probably simpler to just use Midnight Commander (mc on the console), Docker and VM services must be disabled during the transfer. You can also use the mover, but it will likely be slower.
