Array has 1163 errors

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

I’m experiencing an issue with my Unraid server. My array contains 4 drives, and recently I noticed that 2 of them are showing 1163 errors !

Here are some details:

  • Unraid version: 7.2.2

  • Number of drives in the array: 4

  • Drive models and capacities: WDC WD40EFZX 4TO x4

I’m not sure how to interpret these errors or whether I should replace the drives immediately, or if there’s a way to recover them.

Thank you in advance for your help and advice!

They are both logged as a disk problem, and SMART is showing some issues, though this type of issue can be intermittent, run an extended SMART test on both disks.

Hi,
Thank you for the information.
I’ve run extended SMART tests on both disks as suggested, and I’m attaching the SMART test reports for your review.
Let me know if you need anything else.

One passed, the other failed; replace the failed one now, and monitor the other one, but there will likely be new errors soon.
