Building a new Unraid after failure and need to properly install Plex

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

My Unraid server has died after a parity drive failure.

I am now rebuilding one.

I had a massive Plex database with lots of metadata stored. I am hoping I can retrieve it in a backup folder that I will need to drill in, once my new unraid is up and running.

I will copy my movies folders from an external backup into my new unraid.

Questions:

1) how should I install Plex, using the backup I (might) have?

2) how do I make sure Plex, once it is linked to my movies folders, does match the existing metadata to the new folders?

Sorry I could not find any guide but if there is anything already written I would gladly go there if you can point me to it. Thanks!
