hdkhang
Hi Guys, Was just perusing these forums and it came to me that there are some that are concerned about compatible hardware. I know I just had stuff lying around that I wanted to use and luckily that worked out well so far. I can imagine that many others are in the same boat. So I had a thought about how we could get a master list going: "how about have unRAID create a hardware list file on each system, and then we can submit that file to an online parser that would submit the details into a database." The main components to consider are: Motherboard Network Card RAID card Hard drives Case/PSU/CPUs etc. don't really affect unRAID. We could have a screen that lists the components and next to each screen, people can tick whether it works or not and beside that have a small space for comments. Users then press the "create file" button and a file is created ready for us to submit to the online webpage. I am assuming that most people don't leave their unRAID boxes open to the interweb and so have positioned this as a manual process. Would this be achievable? Thoughts... comments.. criticisms? Thanks for reading. Quote Link to comment
