Upgrading Unraid 6.9.2 to the latest 7.2.4

Featured Replies

Hi Everyone

I first purchase Unraid (a pro license) back in late 2021 and built a server with 1 x 4TB Parity Disk, 3 x 4TB Data Disks, 1 x 1TB Cache SSD and Cruzer 16GB USB drive for the OS. I followed much of spaceinvaders videos to install the system and learn about some of the option and configurations. After a while I could not work or even use my Unraid server , due to health reasons etc. Recenlty I rebooted my unraid Server and it is all working however I am aware that there have been many OS releases since then.

Can i upgrade from 6.9.2 to 7.2.4? directly. I cant see a easy guide on yourube like space indvader used to create. The documentation here on unraid website seems very generic. I am acutely aware that the file system options may have changed between releases too?

Is there any clear guide out there that covers this upgrade scenario please?

Configuration

The only plugins i had installed on the systme back in 2021 were

Community Applications (when i try and upgrade this plugingit says

plugin: updating: community.applications.plg
plugin: installed Unraid version is too low, require at least version 6.12.0)

My Servers. (when i try and upgrade this plug in says

plugin: updating: dynamix.unraid.net.plg
Checking disk space on /usr... ⚠️ Error: Insufficient disk space on /usr. Need at least 300MB free, only 76MB available
plugin: run failed: /bin/bash retval: 1

Preclear Disks

Current version 2021.04.11 - it says its up to date

The two dockers i have are

Krusader

it says up to date

Plex Media Server

it says up to date

Thankyou All

Should be fine, create a flash drive backup before doing it, I recommend reading the release notes for all major releases in between.
