Looking for a 300mm (~11.8") deep rackmount case

Featured Replies

I have the following data cabinet: COMS IN A BOX 12RU and am looking for a rackmount case that might be suitable for unRAID use. It is  a standard 19" rackmount cabinet however the issue I have is depth, bracket to bracket (front-back) internally is only 300mm (~11.8"). I don't know if there is much out there but as for requirements I am looking for something which meets the following:

  • Fits at least a Micro-ATX motherboard
  • Fits as many SATA drives as possible, accessible from the front (hot-swap) or has 5.25" bays I can convert to hot-swap trays
  • Fits a standard ATX power supply
  • Is preferably available in Australia ;D

If I can't find a suitable case then I may consider a custom job.

Just found this, doesn't hold many drives but might be something to work from if I do build my own: http://www.sbtech.com.au/ipc-rk300b-11-81300mm-depth-3u-black-wallmount-atx-chassis/

I'm starting to think this is going to be harder to find than I originally anticipated. While I may find a range of "slim" rackmount cases I don't know if you can physically fit a full ATX PSU, Micro ATX motherboard and 10+ drives.. time to reinstall SketchUp methinks..

As a side note I'm not at all worried about height, if I do build something custom it will likely end up using around 6RU but not very deep.
