New Unraid user here trying to get started along with my brother, who I want to gift a license to while the current bundle discount on multiple licenses is active. I'm seeing some conflicting information online about gifting.

In the current docs , step 6 suggests that activation codes can be passed around:

6. Enter your activation code, or choose one from your account if one is shown, then click Redeem Code.

This implies you may have an activation code that did not come from your account (otherwise you would always just see it listed).

However, at the bottom of the doc in the Important Notes section it says:

• Make sure you're logged in with the same account that purchased the license.

What I want to avoid is having to sign in with my account on my brother's server/instance. I want to purchase the bundle, keep one code, and simply hand the second unused activation code to my brother so he can redeem it under his own account.

Which way should I be reading this help doc? Is gifting via an unused activation code still fully supported?

You can, activation codes can be used with a different account than the one used to purchase it
