July 26Jul 26 So it seems it might be time for me to replace my motherboard and cpu as they are starting to be flaky.I am after a motherboard that can handle to HBA's (at the moment I have 2 cards that can handle 8 drives each but one would probably be swapped to handle more)So need a reliable board that will take HBA's with no hassles, CPU one that can have onboard GPU/ APU hopefully and stability.Any suggestions would be appreciated and happy to look at server / workstation boards as I will have probably up to 20 drives in my server (at 14 at the moment)
July 26Jul 26 Do you need ECC memory support? What CPU platform (Intel Xeon, Intel Core, AMD EPYC) do you prefer? They don;t all have the same number of PCIe lanesIs this for a rackmount server or a tower NAS case? 14 is still easy to get on many older cases (or Fractal Define), but more kind of "requires" a rackmount case... not the same thing as just mobo+CPU Edited July 26Jul 26 by denishay
