HDD was missing

Featured Replies

Hello all..!

I woke up this morning to a HDD missing but was unable to look into it until this evening, I'm assuming the drive had a bunch of errors and was disabled from what I'm seeing. The attached diagnostics is from before I began to investigate, I have since shutdown and moved the drive to another bay and restarted currently in maintenance mode and have an extended self-test running after the short self-test returned no errors.

Any confirmation on how to proceed would be appreciated, I've had a look online throughout the day and found many different routes to try and many invalid links to the old documentation so was hoping for a double check from people who know what they're doing..! D

Thanks for any advice.

old documentation

You can access the current documentation from the "manual" link at bottom right of any page of your Unraid webUI. There is also a link to the current documentation at the top of any forum page.

I don't see a SMART report for disabled disk9, but the emulated disk9 is mounted and showing plenty of data.

If disk9 is connected now post new diagnostics.

SMART report for disabled disk9 looks fine. I would be surprised if it doesn't pass extended test, but let it complete. 10TB will take a while.

Then start the array in normal (not maintenance) mode so we can make sure emulated disk9 is still mounted.

Then post new diagnostics.

Rebuild has been successful, fingers shall remain crossed but hopefully it was a random hiccup..! 🙌🏻 Thank you for confirming the plan trurl. 👍🏻
