July 30, 201213 yr So, I'm a complete newb when it comes to *NIX based servers, and besides the occasional copy and paste into the OS X terminal, haven't worked with the command line since DOS 6.22. I heard a rumor that it's pretty different in unix land. I can, however, generally follow instructions. SUCCESSES: Set up and configured UNRAID, have parity and a cache drive in place, set up shares, migrated my data, learned to rock Midnight Commander (God Bless GUIs, even old school ones), telnet in, set up unmenu and installed SABnzbd and Sick Beard. FAILURES: I can't work with SABnzbd and Sick Beard. I make configuration changes, and they refuse to share. I'm willing to bet one hundred trillion Zimbabwean dollars that it's a permissions issue, but I'm lost in the woods at this point. QUESTION: So, how do I set up these processes (and others of their ilk) to run under a specific user/password combo I set up, so that they have the appropriate file permissions and I can let this thing run in the corner and forget about it?
