August 2, 201213 yr I did look at the compatible hardware list and did not see it there I would like to know if anyone has/knows of any information towards compiling my own unRAID OS. I do know that this kind of thing is never easy by any means but work has been slow so I need a new project to fiddle with in my spare time. Any info/help would be great. Here is a .pdf with the specs of the card: http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&frm=1&source=web&cd=5&ved=0CGcQFjAE&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.dastor.it%2Fbrochure%2FRC5000.pdf&ei=AOwZUO3PLq_tiQLo0YGABg&usg=AFQjCNHJb9Viq19-XycOXAbAf8N-vXBh_w&sig2=zzgsJpulFHlLxZVUS5lD6A Also if anyone needs more specs on the servers hardware just let me know and I will post what ever you need to know.
August 2, 201213 yr I cannot help you with compiling your own Unraid but try this card with the latest 4.7 release. I know for sure that the older RAIDcore 4000 were supported there (or in some of the previous 4.x releases) and provided they do not need different driver (one can hope for it) it may works.
August 2, 201213 yr Author Thanks for the quick reply. I was on one of the 5.0 beta releases, and so I dialed back to the stable 4.7 release. One thing I am noticeing is that in the RAIDcore menu there is no settings to turn off raid mode (or JBOD raid). I have tried to detect the hard drive in unRAID these ways: Just leaving the HDD blank (no luck) Initialized the HDD (no luck) Volume raid (no luck) I was researching more this morning and somone said that he had a RAIDcore 4xxx. He made a RAID5 array and then unRAID was able to see the HDD's... That just doesn't sound right to me at all (hardware/software raid in one?)
August 2, 201213 yr Read this one regarding the old Raidcore BC4000- http://greenleaf-technology-hwandsw.blogspot.ca/2011/05/testing-hardware-for-unraid.html These guys are moderators here - so you can ask them questions I also have an older Raidcore myself - if I have time I may try to see if it is working now (and the 3TB+ support) but not this weekend.
