Hi,

 

I have pre-cleared my 2TB parity drive and my 640GB Disk1.

I thought I had read that once you have performed a pre-clear,  then  the parity sync would take no time at all.

The system tells me that it is going to take 192 minutes.

 

Is this indicative of a problem ?  Or have I done something wrong ?

Neither. Initial parity always must be computed on a new array. Preclear removes the clearing step delay when adding new drives to an already protected array.
