September 19, 201213 yr Hi unRAID v5.0 rc3 I have buid my unRaid server without Preclearing any of my first 3 drives. I brought the PLUS key to add another drive, I tried preclearing that drive, but keek getting "Clear Can NOT be preformed", so I went ahead , assigned the drive to the array. After copying some file, I get read error from disk3, the new drive..so I took it out. Now I want to replace it with a old SAMSUNG SpinPoint T166 series, 500G , it's bigger that the faulty drive.. I am using Preclear_disk 1.13. I done a '/boot/preclear_disk.sh -l' to list drive, I found it as '/dev/sda' put in 'Preclear_disk.sh /dev/sda' it get the drive info comes up When I put in "Y", I get 'Clearing will NOT be performed' ... please help
September 19, 201213 yr When I put in "Y", I get 'Clearing will NOT be performed' ... please help The preclear script prompts with (Answer Yes to continue. Capital 'Y', lower case 'es') You did not respond with 'Yes', but answered with 'Y'. 'Y' is not equal to 'Yes' and therefore, the process did not clear your drive and terminated itself. It is coded to specifically want you to respond with the three letter response with a capital 'Y' and lower case 'es'... This response must be matched to prevent an accidental input from clearing a drive you did not intend. Joe L.
