October 4, 201213 yr I will try to provide as much info as I can, if there's anything I'm missing let me know and I'll include it. I'm using unRAID version 4.7 My motherboard is an Intel D975XBX2 (http://downloadmirror.intel.com/15065/eng/D975XBX2_ProductGuide05_English.pdf) Everything has been working fine for a few months but I've decided to expand. There are 8 SATA ports on my mobo, 4 black and 4 colored. I've been using the black ones which work fine but I've connected the new HDD to the colored one but it's not being detected. I'm pretty sure they're part of the onboard Marvell 88SE61XX controller. Is there any thing I need/can do to get these ports working with unRAID? Sorry for my lack of experience here, I also tried searching the forums/wiki and couldn't find anything. Thanks!

If not, is the second set of SATA connectors disabled in the BIOS? If enabled, is it set to be a non-raid JBOD configuration? Joe L.
October 4, 201213 yr Author 1. (attached) I noticed it's taking a little longer to boot than usual. The boot hangs and repeats these messages for a while before continuing: Oct 4 11:48:37 Server kernel: ata2: link is slow to respond, please be patient (ready=0) (Drive related) Oct 4 11:48:37 Server kernel: ata2: SRST failed (errno=-16) (Minor Issues) 2. 2TB 3. Under Drive config in BIOS I cannot see it, only the drives connected to the first set of connectors are there, however, if I go over to the boot drive order area it appears in that list. Also, right before unRAID starts, the Marvell controller gives me an option to enter the RAID BIOS config for the controller: the drive I'm trying to add appears there as well. I have not configured an array though there, should I? 4. Secondary SATA controller is enabled in BIOS, it doesn't specify whether or not it is non-raid though syslog-2012-10-04.txt

October 4, 201213 yr Author Is it possible that the second SATA controller doesn't have an option to get it out of RAID mode? I've looked everywhere on the BIOS and can't find a setting for that. I've also done some searching on google and supposedly is there is no array defined on the RAID contoller BIOS then it just acts as JBOD
October 5, 201213 yr Author I don't know how I didn't catch this on my first search but the go script at the end of this thread worked and the drives are now being detected: http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=16860.msg153810#msg153810 syslog-2012-10-05.txt
