October 8, 201213 yr I have searched here and I see that a few people have used the Lian Li PC-V354 for their unraid builds. I was hoping to get some feedback as to how that case has worked out. My current case is very limited in regards to 3.5" internal drive bays (I have two plus one converted 5.25" slot) so i am looking to make an upgrade. The Lian Li case fits the bill as far as internal drive bays and motherboard form factor and it looks cool (sure, not the most practical consideration but still ...). If it is a complete pain to work with then I will go with something else.
October 10, 201213 yr Author Alright, since I got no bites I guess I will give it a shot and see what happens. Maybe I can make my own thread in the build section for future reference.
October 10, 201213 yr My Lian Li V354 is not being used for unRAID but for my HTPC in my living room. Generally I like the case most of my dislikes are more anoyances than real dislikes. Here are some things I don't like. [*]Like all smaller cases it can be tight working with it [*]You really need a modular power supply to eliminate some of the extra cords. I didn't and I have a huge ball of wires that are unused blocking some of the air flow - but this really isn't a fault of the case [*]Don't like the filters particularly as they are to hard to get at to clean. Especially the one on the 140mm exhaust. I just left it out. And that brings up a question why have a filter on the exhaust fan? The two filters on the 2 120mm inputs on the front I can understand and are a little easier to get at to clean [*]Don't like the lack of MB tray. It mounts directly to the side of the case. [*]Wish the sides could have been screwless like my Lian Li V2000 & V1000 cases [*]Does not fit in my entertainment center without removing a shelf [*]Now that I have a USB 3.0 compatible MB would prefer they have a USB 3.0 header for the front USB ports rather than the hole in the back to plug into the USB 3.0 ports on the back. I got a USB 3.0 header adapter so that I can plug those directly into the MB rather than go out the back and plug in there. Here are some things I do like: [*]Small size [*]Fans are mostly quite and has a 3 pin fan controller similar to the function of the zalman fanmate mounted to the back of the case. The knob is on the outside of the case with the controller itself mounted to the inside of the back of the case. [*]Room for 7 3.5inch drives [*]Room for 4 2.5inch drives could have been 6 if they had drilled the holes on the bottom of the 5.25 bay [*]Nice looking in my livingroom as long as I hide the cables going into the back [*]Works well sitting next to my UPS in my entertainment center once I remove a shelf
