LSI Controller FW updates IR/IT modes
Using megarec and sbrempty are part of the steps I used to flash my H310s to LSI IT mode. Basicly I did the following steps (from _READMEFIRST.txt file in Toolset_PercH310 to LSIMegaraid zip file - The bat's were in H310_to_LSI.zip which was contained in the Toolset_PercH310 to LSIMegaraid zip file): 7) Launch each step, Step 1, 1.bat (This will dump all the information about your card to a file Named ADAPTERS.TXT In this file is your SAS Address which will be required for step 6 (6.bat) Example: HW Configuration ================ SAS Address : 500605b001f31fa0 8) Step 2, 2.bat will save your current controllers SBR to a file Mega.sbr, please rename it to the cards model your using this on, example IBM M1015, rename mega.sbr to SBRM1015.bin and post on the forum (would like to collect all SBRs) 9) Step 3, 3.bat will wipe your current SBR and clear your controllers BIOs. 10) Step 4, Shutdown your system now, plug your USB stick in another system were you can get at the ADAPTERS.TXT (that was dumped in step 1) file to write donw your SAS Controllers Address Hint: prepare step 6 by going to directory "5_LSI_P16" and editing 6.bat where u insert your Controller Address. 11) Put back usb stick in the system with the Mega card and boot to usb again. _____________from here on modified to flash DELL Perc H310_____23.08.2013_________Fireball IMPORTANT NOTE: The batch files are prepared in a way that the IT-fw will be flashed with NO BIOS!. If you need the BIOS then edit the batch files and make sure the command includes the "-b mptsas2.rom" (simply remove the REM) 12) Step 5.1 - flash the original DELL IT-firmware move into directory "5_DELL_IT" and call 5IT.bat 13) Step 5.2 - flash the LSI 9211-8i (P7) IT-firmware move into directory "5_LSI_P7" and call 5IT.bat 14) Step 5.3 - flash the LSI 9211-8i (P16) IT-firmware move into directory "5_LSI_P16" and call 5IT.bat 15) Step 6 - reprogram the Adapter Address call 6.bat in the directory "5_LSI_P16" that you have prepared in step 4. If you didn't prepare the batch file you have to issue the command manually. Obtain your SAS Address from the ADAPTERS.TXT file. I wanted the bios so I added the " -b mptsas2.rom" to the end of the commands. Hope that helps because all I've ever done is use the .bat files on a MB that I found worked to flash my IBM M1015's. I've never used the UEFI method. If you want the TOOLSET file I used I can upload it if it isn't already in one of Fireball3's posts.

LSI Controller FW updates IR/IT modes
What problems are you having that causes you to need to update? I normally only update firmware if I'm having problems. Updating can CAUSE problems so I don't update unless I have to.

I've used a fan and mount like this before to put fans blowing on my PCI slots from above them: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835118204

Preclear plugin
You might just want to settle on the drive manufacturers test programs to test it and then add it to your array and let unRAID clear it. Unlike in versions from 5 and before (maybe even early versions of 6) - the array is NOT offline (with current versions of unRAID) when you add a drive that has to be cleared to the array. I still use the command line script version of preclear to test my drives and you could use that as well as another option if you want.

USB input irq status flooding the logs.
Turn off USB3.0 in the bios and see if that helps.

FreeDOS VM
I setup MSDOS6.22 and WFW3.11 in a VM and just executed it as you can see from the attached graphic. I also included my settings beside it. As you may suspect I setup the VM on VMWare Workstation than transferred the HDD image file over to unRAID (VMDK for the HDD is the clue). Maybe that will work for you.

Windows 8 VM Double Cursor
May not help but try setting scaling on the VNC window to "Local Scaling" if it is currently set at NONE or "Remote Resizing".

Unraid VM shares?
Did you make a directory inside your VM called /home/daylend/UbuntuServer and then reboot or mount -a to reload fstab? I did the following: Then I created the Directory "/unraid" not that the exact path matters could have used "/mnt/unraid" for instance and used that below instead of /unraid. Then I added the following to fstab and rebooted: unraid /unraid 9p trans=virtio,version=9p2000.L,_netdev,rw 0 0 And I got my user shares from my unRAID server listed when I "ls /unraid" Hope this helps.

Cloudready (ChromeOS) VM
I didn't convert the file and used windows to get the vmdk. I downloaded the ova from the article link I downloaded the windows version of VMWare Player 14.0 article link I installed VMWare Player on my Laptop I opened the ova in VMWare Player menu: Player/File/Open then selected "cloudready-free-64bit-59.3.37.ova" file I made note of the "storage path for the new virtual machine" path Once VMWare Player had completed the import I went to the path above and copied the vmdk file to unRAID Then I setup a new VM like I outlined above.

Cloudready (ChromeOS) VM
Top post. Link with name "VMware OVA Download" would be my guess. Then follow instructions to convert in first post. Probably have to change file names some I think. They have changed from those used in first post. I just used VirtualBox 5.1 to extract the vmdk but it aborted with wrong version so I may not be able to go any farther. VMWare workstation 11 didn't seem to like it either. Haven't tried the player in the linked article yet. OK I was able to extract the vmdk from the ova by loading it in VMWare player 14 as linked in the article. Then I transferred the vmdk to unRAID v6.3.5 and setup a VM from the template. I had to change the following to get it to boot properly. Switch to manual for the 1st VDisk and type in the full path to the VMDK. For me: /mnt/cache/VMs/ChromeOS/cloudready-free-64bit-59.3.37-disk1.vmdk Switch from VirtIO to either IDE or Sata for controller for the VMDK Switch to cirrus for the VNC video driver May need to boot first with a single core I did but it works now with multiple cores - so maybe don't need this. Just installed this on my N54L server that is running unRAID 6.5.0 same steps.

SOLVED can't delete empty share
To MOVE a directory in MC you use the F6 key. Just navigate one side to the /tmp directory like suggested and then navigate the other side to the directory you want to move. Highlight the directory to move and press F6.
