What happens when Flash Drive is FULL?

Featured Replies

Hi Everyone,

I don't think my Flash is quite full yet - but it sure filled up quickly when I installed CrashPlan.  I have 40.6MB free according to the web interface.

The crashplan.tar file in my packages folder is 709MB!  (which is a lot on my 1GB Flash that I purchased from Lime Tech).  I presume I need this file?

I don't think CrashPlan is saving anything to the Flash - but since the install, it crashes every few days when it never used to before.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Russell

I don't know enough about it other than to know that sounds badly wrong. Are you backing up to the USB drive instead of an array drive?

Hi Lionel,

I don't think I'm backing up to the Flash...  How big is everyone else's crashplan.tar file?  :-)

Thanks,

Russell

That file is the install stuff, right? There's no reason that file should grow any significant amount. Are you putting the backup into the crashplan directory that is being backed up into that tar file?

You should try a more specific post name for help on Crashplan.

Thanks Lionel,

I don't think the file is growing - it's just huge.

I don't know if it's even a problem...  I guess the question kinda remains: What happens when the Flash Drive is Full?

I'll try a "Crashplan" post, as you suggest, to see if others have file so large.

Thanks,

Russell
