I would really like to serve my Tivo recordings from my unraid server.

Anyone else get this going?

Any other Tivo server suggestions?

Thanks

I have not tried setting it up in my unRaid box.  However, I have it running on my Ubunutu server, and pointing at my user shares.  The problem with my approach is that the symbolic links go stale.  Once that happens pyTivo is useless.

I too would like to try this, if anyone with greater skill can figure it out.  You need FFMPEG and python.

I set this up.

The biggest pain in the ass was finding the right pytivo build to use.

Now, its been a month or so since I did it, so I don't remember all the details (silly me), but there are some shortcuts.

I am not sure how or if you'd be able to do this via the thumbdrive, I am using an install with full slackware.

There *are* nice packages of ffmpeg with install scripts that include all the codecs you'll need.

Let me see if I can find my post on the pytivo boards.

Hereis my ffmpeg version and build options:

root@brainNAS:/var/tmp/Downloads/brainproxy# ffmpeg -v

FFmpeg version git-0358223, Copyright © 2000-2008 Fabrice Bellard, et al.

  configuration: --enable-gpl --enable-libxvid --libdir=/usr/lib/codecs/

  libavutil version: 49.7.0

  libavcodec version: 51.57.2

  libavformat version: 52.16.0

  libavdevice version: 52.0.0

  built on Jun 24 2008 12:50:09, gcc: 4.2.3

ffmpeg: missing argument for option '-v'

root@brainNAS:/var/tmp/Downloads/brainproxy#

You can see I have a directory with every imaginable codec in it.  --libdir=/usr/lib/codecs

Here is my post on pytivo when I had issue.  I ended up using krkeegan's build and it worked.

Any details you can share on this specifically for Unraid?

Did you have to compile code or are there std packages prcompiled that you used?

Any other info is appreciated! thanks
