Cant change share export permissions

Featured Replies

My server went down due to a power outage and it's running a parity check. It has become very unstable. after running over 40days with no problems.

I am trying to change my share settings from hidden to public but it won't take the setting. when I look in the log file I get this error

put_config_idx: fopen /boot/config/shares/Public.cfg: Read-only file system

any idea on how to fix this?

I am running the latest version 5rc8a

it does this for both smb and nfs shares.

I also noticed that when I started a parity check I got this error

2157: Dec  1 00:46:45 HOMESERVER kernel: md: could not write superblock from /boot/config/super.dat

2156: Dec  1 00:46:45 HOMESERVER kernel: write_file: error 30 opening /boot/config/super.dat

it all seems to be a problem with the flash drive. is it going bad? or should I put it into a windows machine and run a check disk on it.

It sounds like your flash drive has issues.

Indeed use a windows machine to run a disk check on it.

Alternatively you can reformat your flash drive, this will flag any bad sectors. It does destroy the content however so you need to save your files first.

I did the check disk on the USB it found some errors rebooted and parity check finished. I can also make changes again. Hopefully that fixes everything
