Strange line in syslog when mover starts

Featured Replies

This afternoon I started  the mover and saw the following lines in the syslog right afterwards

Dec 20 19:20:39 Tower1 kernel: sd 1:0:0:0: [sda] Sense Key : 0x0 [current]

Dec 20 19:20:39 Tower1 kernel: Info fld=0x0

Dec 20 19:20:39 Tower1 kernel: sd 1:0:0:0: [sda] ASC=0x0 ASCQ=0x0"

Does this indicate a problem starting to develop?

sda is the parity disk, or rather a RAID0 volume on the ARC1200 controller, used for parity.

Are you experiencing any read errors?

I only ask as I noticed the same line in my syslog along with read errors, also when running the mover - see my thread here: http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=24809.0

In my case, the disk it related to was connected to a M1015. What I can say is since I reseated the cable I've not seen the entry reoccur and I have been running the mover for several hours now - maybe reseating the cable is worth a go?

No, I don't see any read errors. Could it have something to do with the drive spinning up?

That sounds like a possibility, I will try spinning up a drive when I get home and see if these entries appear in my syslog. Will report back later!

I've just checked and I don't see those syslog lines appear when I spin up a disk... really not sure what is causing them to appear. ???
