I/O Errors on Cache Drive

Featured Replies

Hello Everyone,

I am having a problem with I/O errors on my Cache drive, I get the following error in the logs:

Jan 13 11:12:07 UNRAID kernel: end_request: I/O error, dev sdn, sector 2728394952
Jan 13 11:12:07 UNRAID kernel: sd 1:0:4:0: [sdn] Unhandled error code
Jan 13 11:12:07 UNRAID kernel: sd 1:0:4:0: [sdn] Result: hostbyte=0x04 driverbyte=0x00
Jan 13 11:12:07 UNRAID kernel: sd 1:0:4:0: [sdn] CDB: cdb[0]=0x28: 28 00 a2 a0 00 70 00 00 08 00
Jan 13 11:12:07 UNRAID kernel: end_request: I/O error, dev sdn, sector 2728394864
Jan 13 11:12:07 UNRAID kernel: program smartctl is using a deprecated SCSI ioctl, please convert it to SG_IO

I thought that this was most likely a drive problem, and my cache drive was an older 500 gig drive, so I just replaced the drive with a brand new 2tb seagate, and I am still having the problem. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do to resolve this?

Forgot to mention that I am currently running unRAID OS 5.0-rc 8a

I just realized there was an update so I will upgrade to the newest version.

Thank You

You need to include a syslog, so we can see the real errors reported for the drive, and verify which specific drive is involved.
