grandan
I recently reworked the drives in my unraid since I was down to only one empty slot. I retired a bunch of old 750GB drives by adding some 3TB drives. I kept an older Seagate ST31000333AS 1TB data drive and a Samsung HD103SJ_S246J9FB901197 1TB data drive. These two drives are formatted as unaligned while all my other drives are formatted 4K. Should I reformat these two drives or leave them as is? Is there any impact from running two different formats in the array? I run stock unraid (currently 5RC-10) with no cache drive and each drive is its own group...just a bunch of data drives. dgaschk
Leave the drive as-is there is no impact. Going forward use 4K-aligned for all disks. Quote Link to comment
